About Me
David Munnell has had a very satisfying 40 plus year career as an actor, director, playwright and acting teacher. David’s work has been primarily devoted to stage, including productions in Off and Off-off Broadway and Regional Theatre, but he has also directed, written and acted in film, TV radio, and internet productions. Some of his most iconic roles have been Iago in Othello, Willy in Death of a Salesman, Beverly in August Osage County, and Robert in Proof. He has taught at undergraduate conservatories as the State University of New York at Fredonia and Geneseo, the prestigious University of Minnesota/Guthrie BFA Theatre Program, NYU’s CAP21 undergraduate studio, and at the legendary HB Studios. Many of David’s former students currently work regularly on Broadway, in Regional Theatre, and in Film and Television. Though David is now retired from Actor’s Equity, the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers, and university teaching, he continues to teach, perform and direct in his hometown of Rochester, New York.
